On the motorway tOday there was a big cloud of smoke and then sudden loss of power, pulled over on the hard shoulder and it wouldn't start.

Got toed back home and the engine started but was pilling out black smoke.

Aa man unplugged the maf sensor and gave it a clean as it was covered in oil and the car started and ran OK.

He told us not to drive it because if its the turbo it could break up and do more damage.

Thoughts before we spend a shed load on a new turbo fitted?

Fault code reader said maf sensor but I suspect that is because it was covered in oil
