Hi Group
Newbie here so please go easy one me, I have posted an introduction !. Long time Peugeot owner who has just acquired a 307 1.6 HDi 2004 with 82k on the clock.
I have always had models with basic air conditioning systems fitted but this has an automatic air con/ climate control system. I have looked through this site and found information on basic systems and duel zone automatic systems, however nothing on the system mine has fitted. It appears that, unsurprisingly, it is a generic Peugeot unit fitted to many cars until about 2005.
The control unit in the car looks like
The problem I have is that on occasions, and especially if the car has been standing in warm weather, the climate control system works for a period of time and then switches off. The display stays on as normal with no error message displayed but the fans don't turn on no matter what speed I select, also the flaps do not move. Running the system in manual or auto mode, or having A/C or Eco selected has no effect. After a period of time the system fires up again and runs for another short period until once more it shuts down. The cycle repeats its self for the whole of my journey.
It is as if the system shuts down completely leaving me with no ventilation. At the present time it is not to much hassle, as I open a window. I want to get the system sorted as I don't know what will happen in winter and this will leave me with no demisters. When it runs everything works heater control/direction control and A/C on and off.
As I am not very technical minded I do not want to get ripped off by local garages or air con specialists. If anyone knows of a reputable specialist who is good at diagnosing these problems in the Shropshire/Staffordshire or West Midlands area please let me know.
I have posted this in general discussion as the problem may occur with other models with the same unit fitted.
If you have read this far, thanks for your attention.
Many Thanks in anticipation.
Dave
