Hi guys,
Well i know they are virtually identical as the 807, and there are a lot of experts on here, so hopefully someone can advise....

So a friend of mine has a C8, 2004 plate, 2.0 HDI, DPF/Additive etc

Symptoms are :
Initially Drives fine. Completely at Random it starts feeling like it's going to stall - then a few seconds later it does stall.. even if doing 70 on the motorway! Immobiliser fault appears on the Dash and engine refuses to start (turns over, doesn't fire). Immobiliser fault is already gone. If you leave for 15 mins, or carry out BSI reset it starts and idles fine but as soon as you put under load (put into gear and start to pull away) it dies again.

It's possible that this was initally caused when the battery was changed because it had issues starting in the cold weather a few weeks ago, however the Replacement procedure wasn't followed at the time, but has been done since.

Engine Codes :

P0380 (Pre-post heating relay cct - Short to earth or open cct)
P1435 (Fuel additive accuracy)
P1442 (Additive - amount of)
P1446 (additive - Low level reached)

Not much else is there, however the log was full, so have cleared the log so we can see what it's doing since a reset.

Unfortunately he hasn't got too much £££ to throw at it, however if anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated...

cheers
Paul

Change the heater plugs. Refill the dpf additive and reset counters. And carry out a forced regeneration. Make sure the timing belt is fresh when you're doing it. Go from there.

Many thanks David...

Heater plugs - is this an engine out job, or can it be done in situ?

Also there is fluid in the Additive tank (topped up recently), however i cant work out where abouts in lexia it is to reset the fluid/counters. Have done actuator and Additive injection tests and both can be heard ok. Last Regen was 630Km ago, however happy to do a forced if needed. No faults being seen on the DPF at all other than the additive...

Cheers
Paul
