Hi All

I have a friend who is having problems with a Peugeot 806 2.0 HDi Quicksilver.

One day the car stalled and will not start, He is a diesel fitter so knows his way around a diesel engine, he has replaced fuel pumps, injectors and all kinds and it will still not start, He sent it to an auto electrician who apparently has checked everything he can think of and all voltages, resistance readings are as they should be, he has had the ECU off and sent it away for test/repair, once returned he has plugged it in and it still wont start.

the car is putting some error codes up, I will confirm what the codes are after I speak with him again, however he is unable to clear them, he has the latest snap-on Solus and PP and neither will clear the codes, I have tried my PP also with no joy.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this before.

if he has had the battery disconnected and not followed the correct procedure he may have lost the immo codes on the car.

he will need it hooking up to a local member with planet to reprogram the keys....

now since your from sunderland (im from felling, gateshead) the closest person is gateshead iirc or durham.

I have not been able to speak with my friend so far however I am taking my PP up to his tomorrow so will update the post after that.

OK, The caar is now running as it should, not sure what the original reason was but whilst the auto electrician had it the serpentine belt snapped and ended up getting trapped and the timing jumped 2 notches, this has now been put right and the timing checked and the car runs fine however we are still unable to clear the codes.

I can clear codes in the BSI but not the Engine ECU, the codes that are being displayed are as follows:

P1517
P0340
P0100
P1110
P1112

I'm assuming some of these will have been caused due to things being unplugged during the repair process but I cant think of any reason why they wont clear, when pressing "F3" to confirm that the codes have been read PP just says communication error, this has been tried with 2 different PP's and 2 different laptops and as we can clear the BSI codes I dont think it's a problem with the PP hardware of the laptops.

Hope someone can help.

P.S. there is no fault light on the dash!!

Intake Air Temp Fault
Air Flow Fault
Crank Sensor Synchronisation
Immobiliser Anti Start
Low Fault Pressure- leak

Not sure but the first two may be a disconnection of an air flow meter or the connector not located properly . The second is probably the timing belt fault. Not sure about the fourth but the fifth is the one I would have checked out as this could be an injector ,fuel filter,fuel pump etc

Hi

Thanks for the comments, all the above have been tested and/or checked and appear to be within tolerance. The main issue is that now these problems have been resolved/confirmed as OK we are unable to clear them, PP says communication error when trying to clear and other devices - such as snap-on Solus give a similar message.

Does anyone have any idea why we cant clear these codes?

Been away for a while but now I'm back and we can hopefully resolve this issue.

The BSI is not showing any faults, it did have some and I cleared them a while back but I cannot remember what they were.

The Diesel system is Bosch EDC15.

As mentioned previously I just get a communication error when trying to clear them with PP and also Snap Solus.
