Hi all,
I have a Peugeot 3008 2010 hdi sport.
Just back from the garage after finding out the air conditioning pullys bearings are wearing.
The compressor is fine but unfortunately you can't replace the pully without replacing the compressor- of which i cannot afford this side of Christmas.
My question is, can you replace the alternator belt with a shorter one to bypass the air conditioning pully? If anyone has done this before could they please share part numbers etc. Thanks.

Maybe there was a non A/C version of your engine sold. If so the belt from that might fit.
If not then some careful measuring with non stretching flexible tape might give you an idea what length belt you need.
on many belts the length is a part of the part number which should help.

Roger.

I agree you can replace the pulley/clutch but its probably not available separately you would need to buy a used pump and swap the parts over.

Its usually not possible to do away with the aircon due to the compact design of modern engines its all integrated as a unit i doubt you get one without aircon !
