Hey all,

Can i unplug the electronic plug from the top of just 1 injector and run the engine?
Trying to figure which one is rattling.

Thanks :)

oh it'll absolutely throw a code. And it might only try to run on 2 cylinders rather than three, if it *does* start.
Might be better to do it on a running engine.

but be prepared for codes, yes.

/tried using a screwdriver as a stethoscope?

This should never be done as the cylinder can fill up with diesel and bang, bent conrod.

Ah ha! I knew there would be something dire if i just did it lol :)

Ok if i disconnect the electrical plug, disconnect the fuel to it and temporary blank the pipe off... Then could i lol?

Failing that is there any way i can figure out which injector(s) are making the noise?

Thanks :)

old fashion way with car running stick a piece of broom handle or long screwdriver onto injector and hold to ear and listen to each.

Well i did the screwdriver trick, number 3 injector if my information of the injectors being 4, 3, 2, 1 as you look at them, has a noticeable tone difference, they all make like a "ponk, ponk, ponk" noise apart from number 3 which makes a "pink, pink, pink" noise if that makes sense lol??

Are the actually coded or just numbered as far as the engine management sees?
