You have 3 No's!!!

Glowplugs are only normally used for starting the engine.
During the warmer months they aren't required at all for the engine to start. Daft as it may seem, that's true.

They are also energised when the dpf is going tru a regen to bring up the exhaust temp.
How would the glow-plugs increase the exhaust temperature? It's not as if the diesel will burn hotter with them switched on.

Odd when you think that Intercoolers have been put on diesels to cool the diesel fuel as it enters the cylinders.

By the glow plugs been energised it puts a large load on the engine which
increases the exhaust temp...the rear window de-mister..electric mirror heaters are also called to come on during a regen.
The intercooler is also bypassed which also helps with regen.

Not sure how the french engineers think but thats the system they have
fitted to there modern diesels...
