bsi should wake up when car is started
check all the wires at the back off the comms unit (indicators and wipers is comms unit) as the immobilizer goes through this also check for signs of water on the bsi under glove box if you are changing bsi then you either need a brand new one or you will need to get bsi, ecu and transponder chips to go with it
