Hi there,

I'm looking for some advice if you please.

I have a 207 1.6 allure 61 reg. I had it serviced a month ago (not by Peugeot) and it had a glowing service report. Yesterday I was driving home with a car full of people and warning lights started going off on the car- ABS breaking faulty, power steering faulty. The car had seemed to be driving fine but then the power stealing kept drifting out. Heavy one minute and normal the next. I limped home and the fan seemed to run really loudly for 10 mins after switching the engine off. I've just had the car collected and is being taken to Peugeot. The recovery driver said that he car was also only working one 3 cyclinders.

My questions are can anyone advise what might be wrong with it and also where do I stand with the company that serviced it?

Many thanks

Hi,

It sounds like an electrical problem and there are a few "known" electrical problems that people on here have suffered on the 207 including me. You've done the right thing by having it looked at by Peugeot as they'll know what to look for and how to fix it. If the problem turns out to be related to water getting into the wiring, fuse box or ECU then search through this forum as you'll find it's been discussed several times before. Hopefully that's not what's happened to your car.

The picture you attached shows you've had a full service completed which will include checking and changing fluids, filters, checking tyre condition, making sure suspension and brakes are safe etc. That's all part of a normal service. What a service can't do unfortunately is to predict when an unrelated electrical fault may occur on your car.

A breakdown is NOT going to be prevented by having a service !!!

Your problem is something electrical in nature there are a few possibilities but having a stamp in a service book or a glowing bill of health does not mean these things wont happen.

If indeed it is running on 3 cylinders then there is a slight possibility something done during the service could be the issue but to be honest your description sounds like fusebox or wiring related.

Be prepared for a big bill from peugeot if it is what i think it could be !!
