So I have been on a mission to get rid of the dreaded Anti Pollution Fault and have so far replaced the EGR valve and the Glow Plugs.

The Glow Plugs replacement has fixed a P1351 error but after fitting a new EGR valve I'm still getting "Permanent Fault. EGR solenoid valve Sticking of the valve on programming it values"

I did an actuator test on it before I put it in which passed without fault. Could this be related to another fault or is it just bad luck that I've got a faulty replacement?

Note, after fitting the new valve the car runs much better, no hesitation when pulling away and the old one was definetly knackered.

I've also got another permanent fault, Dust filter (FAP) Maximum number of aborted regenerations reached. This comes up straight away after clearing the faults and is the only one shown until I go for a short drive.

Any advice?

When you fitted the new EGR, did you tell the car it had a new one with PP or Diagbox so it can re-learn?
I read that somewhere but looked everywhere in PP but couldn't find any reference to "Re-learn" the EGR. Any pointers on where to look?

Thanks James, found it under Replacement Parts. Went through the motions and followed the on screen instructions and all seem to go well.

But now the engine ECU is not replying when I do a global test so I'm unable to clear the faults. Tried test by ECU and selected my engine but still get "ECU did not respond". Tried restarting Diagbox and turning the ignition off and on still it doesn't reply. Should I disconnect the battery?

Any ideas?

Try letting the car go into 'sleep mode' ie remove ignition power lock car and come back after a cup of tea.... then try again with PP or Diagbox as new settings will have taken effect:thumb:

So after fitting a new EGR valve and using PP to tell the car that a new part has been fitted (twice) I'm still getting an anti pollution fault which relates to the EGR valve.

I have taken some pics to see if anyone can spot any problems:

This is the fault:

This is the EGR reading with the engine off:

The is the EGR reading with the car idling:

Have I got a faulty part?

Is it a NEW NEW part, and a proper genuine part? Also EGR's are not all the same, you will have one which is quite specific to your cars era, do the part numbers match?

90% is normal for warm idle, 0% is normal for engine off. 0% is normal for 3000rpm+

The valve should progressively get lower as you rev higher, up to 3000rpm.

Although this isn't a problem with it's positioning, it's a problem with it's ability to learn it's extents.

Are you positive you have followed the replacement parts directions correctly? At one point the in the test the car must sleep for it to take the new settings, this takes about 30 seconds.

No, I just bought the cheapest I could find on ebay: PEUGEOT EGR VALVE 1.6HDI 04- 1007,206,207,CC,SW,307,308SW,407 | eBay

Yes, it's hard not to really as PP makes it self explanatory.

I guess I shoudn't have been so tight and should just replace it with a genuine part :(

Can you take a picture of your old Valve, it will have a sticker on the copy position sensor on the top, I'd like to see those numbers.
I could have sworn I still had it but looks the wife has thrown it out

This sounds too cheap to be true. Sounds like you bought a lemon.
That's what I thought, I have just spoken to the supplier and he reckons the ones they supply are Valeo and should work. I'm not sure if they are Valeo as the sticker on top doesn't mention Valeo like the original did.

He is going to replace it so I'll see how it goes. If it's the same I'll just cut my loses and order this one Peugeot Genuine New Parts Peugeot 1007/3008/307/PARTNER/206 EGR Valve | eBay which is supposed to be a Genuine Peugeot part.
