You have posted 2 threads on electric problems which normally means battery or alternator problems. I know its not logical but it is a Peugeot and they are renowned for being trouble when their power source is low. I would get the battery load tested and the output from the alternator checked as my first port of call.
Ok il take to a garage tomorrow,I didn’t mention the blowers only working on setting 4 and the wiper motor not working either I just thought they were desperate issues ☹
With battery difficulties the first thing that senses it is the BSI unit which controls the body electrics i.e windows, doors, wipers etc Make sure the checks are carried properly or the BSI can get corrupted and then you have bigger problems!
This issue is not related to battery. Your plastic cover which is pressing the boot switch is stuck, does not go back. Spring which returns it is worn out. You can improvise, use spring from pencil for example.
Did he do a full load test using what is basically a heat sink to test the capacity of the battery? Voltage readings alone are no true indication of the battery as it is its capacity to produce the amperage that is important.
I don’t think so mad bad,he had a special machine that he connected to the battery, then he asked me to turn on lights, radio rear window heater.im a bit lost when it comes to this sorry.
Basically he was doing a load test but that sort of load does not reveal much. The tool I was talking about is basically a short circuit on the battery but with a load and a meter to show how the capacity of the battery is. A good battery would hold the load but a defective one would show a steady drop and indicate that on the meter. A battery is made up of cells and these are like a series of flat plates lying in a mixture of chemicals. One or more of these plates could be losing its ability to hold the charge and the load machine in effect shows that up. You can buy these machines over the counter in outlets like Halfords and they are not too dear. They are also on the ebay.
