I've seen the previous post on here, asking about a retrofit stalk.

but it doesn't say about if it was possible to actually do.

i've got a 65 plate bipper professional, and i'm hoping to have it retrofitted.

i contacted a couple of indies in newcastle and was told it wasn't for them... contacted robins and day who wanted my card details before they'd even look at it, contacted SG petch in darlington who said something about they think i'd need a new loom and BSI?

what i'm trying to find out is, is it possible. and is it cheaper than fitting an aftermarket system?

and does anyone know of a indie anywhere in the country that can do it? i travel with work so it's not really an issue getting to places.

Thanks

Hi Mate,

I would not even dream of an aftermarket system. So much that can go wrong!

I managed to fit it to our 15 plate peugeot partner work van myself. I have diagbox so it was a bit easier.

Bought the stalk, plugged it in, turned it on. Job done! Can't be any different on a bipper I wouldn't have thought.

Not so much,

Its difficult to see in plain text, but that information is from a table. The item on the left is an identifier, and the item on the right is the value.

What is weird is I cant see any mention of the unit that most of these stalks clip into (COM2000).

There are a couple of things you should check first.

Firstly, remove the steering wheel shroud, (only two screws) and see if there is a slot for the stalk. Its hard to see as it has a blanking plate on.

Also, you need to check that the clutch pedal has a switch on. This is required for the cruise control as it turn's off automatically with the clutch or brake pedal. (The brake pedal already has the switch for the brake lights).

See my thread here:

PhotoBucket appears to be down, but there are photos there when the website comes back up.

It is blanked off because the bipper is not a peugeot it is actually a rebadged fiat and uses many fiat parts ! hence the lack of comm2000 :)

There are so many badge engineered vehicles on the road nowadays its hard to know for sure what you are actually driving

corsa D is a punto
Ford KA is a fiat 500 !!

Chryslers are really lancias which in turn are fiats :)

Dacias are rebadged renaults the list is endless !

There is even a big fiat van called a talento and its a rebadged renault trafic !!

Hi,
Sorry to dig up an old thread but can you not buy an new module with cruise control and then programme it I assume this would be required could be wrong

I had a look at my Van on the strength of this thread and I have a big white switch above the clutch pedal but same as above a blank over the hole

thanks

Anthony
