Hi all

as the interior lights in my 406 are relatively dim and don't provide the best lighting, I've got some LED lights I'm looking to install.

They are about 22mm in size (look up LED Plinth Lights) so would need a hole saw or similar to make a suitable size hole. Does anyone know the best way to make such a hole in the fabric-lined ceiling? I'm thinking if I use a hole saw it will probably just snag on the fabric and tear across the ceiling so wonder if anyone else has tried a similar mod and could offer any tips?

This is a shot in the dark, but perhaps a short length of 22mm copper tubing could be cut square, then file the edge till you get a real sharp knife edge. Then use it like a pastry cutter, gently.
In principle it'll cut through the lining and the fibre based former neatly. If it's real sharp.

If you can get a block of wood behind it then a simple hollow punch would do it.

Last suggestion is a scalpel, or quality small craft knife, coupled with patience and much care.
