Hi, I've not driven my 106 for 3 weeks. Not sure if the battery is dead.

The dashboard lights come on when you turn the ignition and the interior light works.

But when you turn the ignition you get almost nothing. No starter whir.

Can the battery be dead even when the dashboard lights work? Tried jump starting it and that didnt help but never know if it wasnt working.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi hughwatkins,
yes-ish....the biggest draw on a battery is when its cranking (turning over engine)
by jump starting it would normally work...

It maybe worth taking out the battery (ensure you have radio code)
popping it on a charger over night and this may bring your battery back to life...:)

When trying to start it is it clicking or is the engine turning over slowly..??

Thanks. It's just totally dead when you turn the key. I can try checking the fluid level in the battery and charging it overnight.

If the battery has screwable caps then just open them a few turns before

you start charging the battery as each cell can let out acid vapours...:)
