The 3008 GT Line has automatic tailgate. I tried it few time it does not stop when it hits something when it opening and closing. Does this normal for new 3008?

If it so it would be a safety hazard and is there anyway set to stop (other than manually closing-but this is little hard) when it hit something like accidently a back wall of the garage or hit on the head.

When I try while the automatic tailgate is closing, I could not stop it even pulling it very hard. The closing force is very strong.

Just tried mine it did not stop when I put my hand under it when it was coming down, I even pushed up on it still didn't stop, This could be very dangerous and needs Peugeot to do something ASAP I really didn't fancy patting my arm in as I am sure I would be spending the evening in A+E getting my broken arm fixed

The difference could be due to the fact that one is an independent review and the other is a Peugeot instructional Video. In the Peugeot video the tail gate has to stop because with the presenter’s arm is in the way and it has nowhere to go. In Thomas’ video the tail gate is closing against his movable body so I presume it is acting differently. Thomas tries this out in all his reviews on cars with automatic tailgates and very few pass his test.

Did you try puting your arm between the tail gate and the bodywork like the french guy Fontie?

Okay you didn't fancy it I obviously didnt read that bit.

I have a GT Line with the hands free electric opening tailgate. If this detects an object, the tailgate will stop, and then reverse direction a couple of inches. This is an option on the car, and standard on the GT model only. I don't think the standard GT Line has an electric tailgate at all.

It does only work on the last part of the closing cycle. If you grab the door when half way down and try and push against it, the anti pinch doesn't work. So, like in the video, if you stick your arm in, the door will carry on closing, then stop and reverse a few inches from the end of it's cycle.

Re the SMART foot operation. This is odd, at least on my car, and I can't get it to work if one of the car doors is open. Sometimes it doesn't work with the car already unlocked either. I can't see any mention of that in the manual.

See below what's in the manual (see the attached image). As per this it should work any level otherwise it is stupid design.

I believe "Open & Go" system is different option. The electric tailgate with foot operate function will come with GT Line and GT as standared.

OK just tried again the anti pinch does in fact work but only when its about half way shut to almost shut. it did shut and lock with other doors open. I guess mine must be the smart version because it opens/closes with my foot.
