Automatic 3008 How to put Neutral with engine off?

Can't you start the car, leave it in neutral and turn off the car? At least I can do it with EAT6 on 308. You should also be able to put the car in ignition, press the brake and shift in neutral.

To put the vehicle in free-wheeling mode, engine off:
- with the vehicle stationary, engine running, select N,
- switch off the engine,
- within five seconds, switch the ignition on again,
- with your foot on the brake pedal, push the selector forwards or backwards once to confirm N and manually release the electric parking brake,
- switch off the ignition.

If you exceed the time limit of five seconds, the gearbox engages mode P; you must then restart the procedure.

Since OP can not start the car, maybe instead of starting he can try with ignition.

So that means only Peugeot dealers can do certain maintenance on it if independent shops dont have that tool?
Well, there are few options, depending on the car.

Some universal diagnostic tool might be able to do it.

Independent shops can buy Diagbox tokens.

You can turn on ignition, release the electronic brake and keep the ignition on while you are working on the pads.

I don't think that's it. I think eat8 uses electronic to change from P to N or to D. With eat6, I can put it N without starting the car, since it's physical connection.
