Always thought it sounded a bit tinny. Just been fiddling and acitvated 'loudness correction'. BOOM BOOM Stereophonics on on way back from golf course today, didn't want to get home, awesome sound system on these cars when time taken out to fiddle:D

I've got a pioneer aftermarket HU in mine with the standard speakers and it sounds the best of any car I've had previously. First time I've got stalk controls working with it as well. Really pleased with my 407 now, must admit there was a point when I first bought it and encountered many problems that I thought I'd made a big mistake buying it. But now would say one of the most enjoyable cars to drive that I've had.

My thoughts exactly mate. I've had a few issues also. Aircon, cooling fan, heater flaps, glow plugs/ DPF light. All sorted by help on here and buying the planet stuff. I do love the car though, great looks and fantastic torque, good fuel economy too. I do love the car and glad I bought it but I can see why some can give up on them. You need to be an enthusiast and do the research otherwise it's a matter of getting fleeced by the dealers.
Did you get planet installed OK?

Yes got planet working in the end, just seems a case of keep trying/re-booting and eventually it worked!

Now having a look at the servicebox software I bought.......

I think we all get it like that on these cars, I'm exactly the same, some little niggles to sort out and I'm convinced the dpf needs changing, as it likes to make a hash of the regens. But it's a cracking car to look at and drive and superbly well equipped for next to no money :thumb:

I thought about spending £5000 on a really nice Saab 9-3 aero convertible, but instead I decided that my big mileage would hurt my wallet too much, so bought the 407 for £1900 and am looking at older shape 9-3 Aero cabby for about £1500 as a toy instead. So it's a win-win :D

Re Audio, I listen to my iPod through the bt kit and even then the sound is spot on
