Apology gang

Think I owe everyone an apology for being a right grump recently.

It's just our first ever brand new car and so far, between continuing delays meaning at least four and a half month wait from order to delivery, (providing it isn't delayed again by then), lies from Peugeot customer services, and zero communication from my dealer, its been a really poor experience.

I'm genuinely pleased for all who have taken delivery and enjoy reading about how the cars are performing, but 'frustrated' that even though we only ordered a standard GT Line on the 12th Feb, it wont even be built until the beginning of June, (then starts its 3 week transit to dealer remember!), after being promised a 3rd week of April 'worse case scenario' delivery by my dealer.

So sorry gang, and look forward to being a 3008 owner like most of you and not just a wannabe.

Chill. Nobody cares anyway. Just a bunch of strangers trying to get info on their future cars...

There is absolutely no need to apologise Beau, I'll speak for everyone here I am sure, we have all had to wait varying amounts of time for our cars and very excited at the prospect of getting them, in your case it is inexplicable and plain outrageous you are having to wait so long, in your shoes all on here would be venting their anger and frustration. What has happened has happened with the delivery of your car all you can do now is have faith and look forward to its delivery in June. It is a horrendous wait but will be so worth it when you sit in and drive it off the forecourt for the first time.

Vent get angry as much as you want, we are here to calm you down.

Not so sure about that.

Got to know some on here quite well and many have been really helpful, so don't class anyone here as strangers.

We all have a common interest too.

Jeeez that is a hell of a wait, i feel for you man but fingers crossed it will be 100% perfect when you do get it.
This is where we all come for a vent bud ? I'd be just as miffed as you are!

No worries- must be pretty rough to have such a delay. When mine was put back a month I was gutted and that's nothing compared to your wait! But time marches on and that day will come. My build date is tomorrow and it's soon passed.
I’m sorry Paul, I disagree, I haven’t found you to be particularly grumpy, you are just naturally and understandably venting your frustration at the ineptitude of Peugeot and your dealership. As I mentioned elsewhere if it hadn’t been for the delays and lack of information I would never have visited, let alone joined this forum.

Looking at the dates other members ordered their cars compared to you, some were about a week earlier and they have already taken delivery. To be told yours will not be built before June is ridiculous and I think you SHOULD write to David Peel and make a formal complaint. For your car, the configurator is showing availability in 9 weeks if ordered today so how do Peugeot explain that one to you?

Good luck with your e-mail.

Hi Paul, I ordered a get line the day after you and was originally quoted eta to dealer early May that has now been revised to end of May. Having seen your post suspect I will now be June also! Has anyone noticed that on peugeots website any model 108 208 etc is much the same is 9 weeks. Maybe peugeots build times are much of a muchness irrespective of which model you order? Like you this will be my first 'brand new' car so maybe this is the norm
Excuse the typo ft line not get line :lol:

Hey, everybody wants - nobody wants to be excluded.

As said - it can get to everyone. Just don't let it consume you, balance venting and looking forward to it.
Beau. There is really no reason for anyone to have to apologise for sometimes feeling annoyed, frustrated, desperate, p****d off, envious, fed up, disappointed or any other feeling that goes hand in hand with buying a new car these days. We all expect to have to wait for a car that has only just been released but in your case I can't help thinking that you've been let down by Peugeot and also your dealers because they've allowed your order to lose its place in the queue. If everyone is having to wait for almost 5 months for their car then so be it but when some who ordered more recently are getting their's much quicker then that is downright bad customer service and grossly unfair. Unfortunately the 3008 has become a victim of its own success.

You're obviously a very patient man but I think that it's time for you to stop your dealer from dragging their feet any longer and you should contact the powers that be to request their intervention in this. Buying your first brand new car should be an exciting experience and it hasn't been so we do all understand and accept your frustration.

I hope that you soon receive good news about your car.
Regards

Are brokers able to jump the que, I wonder.

Certainly not mine, ordered GT Feb 14th, which was 9 weeks ago and not heard a peep. Was told 16 weeks at the time so not overly concerned though.

There's absolutely no way there will be any discounting through brokers when it does finally arrive here.

Too much demand will be the problem.
