I live in Oslo Norway Europe. My car is a 406 2.0 2003 Petrol 132 hp estate.

After sealing an engine internal water leak in half an hour by adding Steel Seal to cooling water 4 years ago, I let the Steel Seal remain in the cooling water contrary to the description of use on the Steel Seal bottle.

Presumably this might be the cause for the water pump to recently seized up - thereby cutting off all the teeth on the timing belt. Motor stopped immediately.

I dismantled the cylinder top. All 8 inlet valves are bent, exhaust valves look straight but might be out of shape.

To repair I need new valves. Anybody have such valves in stock or know of a trustworthy outlet ?

Valves Gaskets and head bolts - Ordered

Update - have now ordered:
  • NEW ELRING ENGINE TOP GASKET SET 331600 I OE REPLACEMENT ( £109 from ebay )
  • Inlet valves, exhaust valves and cylinder head bolt kit ( £112 from Buycarparts.co.uk )

Fault code P0606 and P0351/2 after cylinder top refit and engine runs smothly

Hi, just an update for anybody interested in this kind of DIY.

Took quite a while to undo the valves due to lack of correct spring compression tool, also time to get the new valves from ebay supplier, and of course the grinding itself - when suffient.

However, put it all together with new valves and gaskets, and approximately 30+ connections to refit.

Checked timing by rotating crankshaft manually and also checking by optical scope clearence in cylinders at the same time.

Then started engine. Runs nicely. At first lots of smoke from oil residue, then steam from radiator that I cured with stop leak fluid. No water in engine oil, and no engine oil in cooling water.

Have driven 90 km since startup and no problems with torque, acceleration or speed up to approx. 110 km/h (not tested higher).

Why then fault codes:
At first:
P0342 Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit Low
P0351 Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
P0352 Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
-> disconnected and reconnected camshaft pos.sensor plug
Now:
P0606 PCM / ECM Processor Fault
P0351 Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
P0352 Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction

How to fix P0606 ?
Why P00351 and ..352 when engine appears to run smothly ?

Anybody got advice ?

Circuit low means the signal is not getting through properly due to poor connection coil faults may well be because of the same thing check harness for breaks and check earths

P606 not familiar.
