My names Max and i have a Peugeot 308 1.6 VTi S showing an anti pollution fault.

i get intermtant power/running issues now

after some googling it seems to be an EGR valve thats needs cleaning or get some diagnostics done and your forum popped up as being in the people to contact.

im a bit lost as to what im doing as i had never even heard of an EGR valve until today but on the other hand im not shy of getting on the spanners, just changed the rear springs 2 weeks ago.

anyways, i was wondering if you could advise or help me at all please, im from colchester in essex

Many thanks in advance.

Max

"Anti pollution fault" on the display is a catch-all message that something that may affect emissions is wrong. Could be EGR, but that would just be one of many possible causes.

Had it on my 206 when new, spent 2 of its first 3 weeks back at the dealers - was eventually traced down to a contact element in a plug not being fully seated/locked into the plug and not making/making intermittent contact as the harness flexed as the engine moved.

You really need to get the codes read to get an idea of what's the cause.

Check out the Diagnostics map if there's someone local with the diagnostics gear that can help you w/o the cost of a dealer visit.
