Alarm going off parked on slope

6208 Views 12 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  vinba
Hi All!

Just had my 508 for a week and was wondering if anyone had the same issue... Been parked today twice in a car park and every time a minute after locking the car, the alarm has gone off! Turned it off with the key. Drove it to a car park that is flat and the alarm didn't go off.. Is it possible that the tilt sensor or something like that has activated? What is the best way to sort it out? Any ideas gratefully received!

Thanks

Vince.

Vince, if you purchased it from a dealer then take it back, if not, park on the flat...;)

Lol if only the world was flat. Just noticed that it is quite windy as well.. Did a little test.. Opened the car whilst it was parked on the slope, turned off the sensor via the button near the sos, closed and locked car, walked off and waited a minute... Car alarm didn't go off.. Will see what happens when I park again at home...
Hmmm.. Parked on a steepish slope lengthwise and it is fine.. Will do some more testing on various slopes :)

Hi Vinba,

I have a 2014 Gt (Pre face lift) and I had that problem with the alarm going off randomly. Took it to the dealer who informed me there is a software update for it. Software update done and now no problems at all with the alarm

Cheers Grumpyoldgit :thumb:

It's going to the dealership for the calibration file update for the satnav next week so I shall ask them about that update as well..

Many thanks! :)
Quick question grumpy.. Any idea what I'd need to tell them or would it be a case of them updating something in the software?
Hi Vinba,

I would tell them what the problem is then mention you are aware of a software update a "friend" had done that cured it. After mine was done I did notice the indicators flashed slower and less so the update did change something.

Good luck,

Hi Grumpyoldgit.. Would you mind telling me which dealership did the update just in case I need to ask them for proof for my local one?

Thanks

Vince.
Hi Vinba,

I just sent you a PM.

Thank you Grumpy! :thumb:
The sensitivity of the alarm can be adjusted at the dealership! Booked in for the 26th of May! Excellent service from Peugeot! Got a call from head office and contact details.. They also spoke to the original dealership who sorted out Grumpy and my dealership...
