Has anyone done this themselves at all please? Have been looking online for any pointers and struggling a bit.

Also , what oil? I have crossed referenced and Dexron 6 seems compatible but don't want to get it wrong.

I won't be doing this myself, but in conjunction with my trusted mechanic.

I did get the oil partially changed not that long ago, but it was at a 'specialist' gearbox garage who got the levels wrong the first time, charged me plenty and I wasn't impressed overall....

All help appreciated.

I have done this on 2 of my 2.0L 407HDi's. You can only change 3litres at a time so I did 4 changes over a couple of days. I did 4 as, after 3, the oil still was not clear, so I did the 4th where I felt the oil looked quite clear.

After the oil changes are complete, you must do an oil counter reset in Diagbox. It did make a noticeable difference in the shifting of the gearboxes once I did the reset.

Unless your car is a late model (Euro 5 spec, uses AW-1 spec oil) it will use an oil that needs to meet the JWS3309 specification.

This link in the C6 owners forum gives the process.. Downloads / Drive train wheels and Gearboxes / C6 Auto Gearbox drain and refill process - C6owners

I am currently getting an adaptor made up that fits in place of the gearbox mounted oil cooler so I can next do a full flush in one go.
