Its a long and expensive story .....
Firstly the aircon compressor would run but would not cool . Aircon guys say the compressor line to condensor needs to be replaced ( and it needs to be imported ! ) and then regassed . Total about 400 pound.
But the fix hasn,t it worked out right . Now , the Compressor produces "some " cool air in the morning on the way to work ( for several minutes ) but, on the way home when the weather really is hot, no cool air is produced . Infact it seems to be as if its just blowing thru the hot air of the day outside .
So, back to aircon guy who says compressor is problem , and mumbles , "seals and valves" , and then asks for another 400 pound to fix the compressor with a "replacement" plus 100 to install it .
Heres the question .. Why would th compressor make cool air in the morning and nothing in the afterenoon ? What seals and valves are in a compressor that causes such problems . ? FYI the compressor is a SD6v12, Sanden, model 1438.
Any ideas ?
thanks

Sounds like they are putting in too much refrigerant in the system. It makes it inefficient when working and as it heats up and pressure rises the overpressure switch disables the compressor or it could be the expansion valve in the evaporator in the heater

Thanks for all that info. I will take the vehicle to another aircon guy and see if they will look into the possibilities you have suggested .
