Airbag fault

Help needed with my 2004 807:

Airbag light on, so not MOT approved. Plugged in my Launch codereader and got the following messages:

1. C01 - Driver's module trigger. Open circuit.
DTC status: Coherence fault. Distant

2. P081C (This might not be relevant here)

And when diagnosing I got a message on the cars displaying: "The passengers airbag not activated". It is not showing up a light on the car showing that is not activated unless I use the key to deactivate it. So this only come up when diagnosing the airbag system.

What could be done to eliminating or finding the fault?

Yes, take the side panel off the center console, and there's a rubber pipe going from up above and through the flooring. It pulls out at the floor level, and that's a typical leaking point. Have something ready to collect water when you disconnect it.

The wiring loom can be damaged, but I suppose the ECU inbetween the seats is the prime suspect. I had to get mine replaced a couple of years ago, they sealed up the ECU box with silicone.
