hi,
Air condition cooler ( evaporator i think) has clogged and take much time to get cool air. for cleaning the cooler we have to remove the dash board completely.
i searched video instructions on the web for dash board removal of peugeot 407 HDI, couldn't find.
Any tips or instruction on dash removal, it is a great help for me.
thanks

Hi....do you mean clogged 'internaly' or clogged 'externaly'...if its externaly the pollen filter should protect it from debris....internaly...unlikely...I watched a couple of guys remove my dash for a heater vent replacement...got bored ...not a job for the inexprienced..that job took a day...I would get the gas level checked first....

Highly unlikely that the evaporator is blocked. More likely the expansion valve [if you do in fact have a blockage], or the filter/dryer.

Any decent aircon specialist will quickly be able to tell you if you have a blockage, or if you are simply low on refrigerant.

But, as above, first remove the cabin/pollen filter and see if it improves cooling.

thanks for comments,
i brought this car recently and record shows air condition compressor and condenser has replaced recently. refrigerant pressure is normal, no leaks detected.
But there was no cabin filter in place, somebody has removed it. hope cooler has clogged externally.
how ever i have to remove it, and the dashboard. My A/c technician has no experience of 407.
Hayns manual says no need to remove dash completely to reach the evaporator. hope somebody has this experiance

If I remember, evaporator is right next to the cabin filter. Put your hand in the gap and feel around if it's clogged up. I doubt it will have done though BUT if it has, you might be able to vacuum it out.

A friend of mine had his 407 AC regassed. It was showing pressure as normal BUT the air coming out the vents was only slightly ccolder. Whereas mine was properly ice cold. Turned out it needed to be regassed properly!!

Thank you BiGK,
That's good idea. I'm going to vacuum the system and regass before all.

i did the re-gassing and it did not improve the cooling. Then i remove the cooler and it was clogged externally. Cleaned it and fixed with new cabin filter. Now it has good air flow and cool.
Thank you all for your comments.
