Well my car's been back to the air-con specialist today to find the leak in the system and it needs a new condenser, which i stopped listening when i heard £400+ to sort. Ive priced a condenser up at eurocarparts and they are only £90, so i guess that's the route i'm taking BUT has anyone changed a condenser before and if so what's involved ??

Not done a 407 but on most cars not to difficult either bumper off or rad out to gain access (and maybe odd fan removed if front mounted) and undo a few bolts and 1 or 2 pipe connections to condenser which is easier when the gas has leaked out. Proper system vac required to refill

No but mine's gone too (huge leak)

I've been putting off getting it done because of cost.

Don't need air-con in the winter anyway! :)
Mine also lots of hissing from around the Condenser

was considering getting a DIY UV dye kit and actually having bumper off to try and see where its leaking from

As its already empty we would of course be able to skip the Mandatory gas evacuation that is required before working with the system

I also looked on ECP :) to price the condenser up
