Hi all, after having changed two LHS widow regulators in the past with full success, the time came to replace the broken window regulator on the drivers door. Peugeot part. Now to reset stroke, upper and lower. Lift the button up - the window goes down in steps. Push the button down - the window goes up, in steps (only with the door closed). Reading through most of the window problems on this forum, I've now reset the main computer following the procedure. I've even pulled the drive window motor apart and cleaned all the carbon out. Also the window switch. With the window midway and I know it's not set, went to open the door and the window went up about 25mm when i pulled on the handle, so that bit works - in reverse. Just can't get the window to operate in the correct direction.
I don't think a Peugeot regulator would be spooled the wrong way.
It's just unplug, plug back in, reset, drive away.
What happend, Need help on this one. I've now had to change the battery to give the electronics full voltage.

I have also noticed an error code on the desh (lin 30) but I thinks thats not related

dont know if it would help or not but have you tried resetting the windows limits??
advice given by reliable406 in another thread

Put the window fully down hold down button for 10 seconds then put window fully up hold up for 10 seconds this resets the limits and stops the 25mm at a time we are metric i dont do old money :)

Not sure it helps with the 10mm drop when you open the door but it might.

As for the lin30 on the dash im pretty sure that sounds like your speed limiter is set to 30 and not a faultcode:)

try turning the limiter off on the stalk below the indicator stalk and it should go away

Yep, tried all that, and you were right on the lin30, thats gone now.
I've gone down to the electronic store and bought contact cleaner and stripped the motor electronics and the door window switch module. Nothing out of the ordinary.
For one touch of the window button, the motor did drive the window the right way. Then reverted back to reverse operation.
I've also reset the main cpu by following the procedure (disconnect the battery way) no luck. Two days now fluffing about.
All the other windows are fine.
I'm also in Perth, Australia, so a bit of a time difference.
Any more ideas, always worth a try.

Hi bruce,,

no not really got any more ideas except for maybe try checking and cleaning the drivers door switch for the windows as they can get dirty inside and do all sorts of weird things

scrap that i just reread your post and seen you have already done that

ill see if i can get a wiring diagram for you maybe somethings up with the wiring

No worries. Looking at the videos now, see if they did something different.
All I've done is unplug the two pluggs on the motor to replace the window regulator and plugged then back in. Can't get them wrong. they can't be swapped over by mistake. Wiring appears to be intact.

Thanks Terry for the wiring diagrams. any chance is there clearer ones somewhere.
When I print it out, it's very fuzzy and unreadable.
No props reading then as i'm an electrician specialist.:)
Just checked the wiring resistances across all the drivers door switch's to the motor PCB, all ok.
Just running backwards, so I can't set the upper and lower window limits..........time for a beer :)

I would replace the door module. I had a similar problem where I had my window half open. I touched it to go up while driving and it would go up a mil then all the way down. Did my head right in. Was an early sign on the door module failing.

Contact cleaner helps if the contacts are at fault. If the module is on it's way out that 1 time it worked right might be few and far between now.

Cheers SlashProm, Terry came up with a BMW youtube with the same problem I had.
Note the HAD.
You slide off the electrical motor outer shell that has the magnets in it, and rotate it 180 Deg. Tighten her back up. And low and behold, back to normal.
Reset the upper and lower window limits. Window works as it should.
Two minute fix. I tell you if it wasn't for these types of forums, us dad's would be taking the car to the dealer.

Terry, a big thank you for the you tube. Maybe you can put the link on here for all. A two minute fix, that took me all through the wiring and checked the position resistances on the switch's over the weekend. At least the rest of the car is fine.
