Ad Blue tank replacement

My engine fault light has come on and I have taken it to the garage and they say the van needs it’s Ad Blue tank replaced. They say this could cost me up to 2 grand. My sister in law had the same issue, she took it to Peugeot and they give her a free MOT and a few hundred of as a gesture of good will. I know a few others with a berlingo and Boxer and they had the same issue. Tank removed and charged up to £2000. I have looked into the matter and there was supposedly a recall for vans between the years 2014 and 2018 back in 2018. I don’t see why I should have to pay £2000 for something that seems to be a manufacturers fault. With the current crisis rise in energy bills, rise i food and fuel do you think I can afford to pay £2000 just before Christmas? I am a decorator by trade I have to use my wife’s vehicle to drive to jobs which is causing distress because she has an 11 month year old baby to tend to. Now I need to find £2000 which I will have to likely get into debt to pay because I need my van and can’t afford another. What is the solution Peugeot? Citroen are what ever your company is called? Do you think you need to do another recall on vehicles from 2014-2018? Or should customers be made aware that after purchasing a van with ad blue tank within that period of time they will have to fork out £2000 of there own money to get the issue fixed? I will likely have to phone my insurance company up and right my vehicle off because I can’t afford £2000 before Christmas. And I can guarantee if enough customers did this yous would be forced to address the issue.
It's not just vans. We are having the same issue with our 3008. £2000 is a lot of money for anyone to find at this time of year. We are pensioners and rely on our car.
