Sorry to open another thread but I'm struggling here and some of the prices I have been quoted so far are astronomical.

So anyway into the issue at hand:

how do I get to the turbo to check the valve ?? I can't see any way in ...

Wait for the engine to cool.
Get hold of some 4mm bore pipe about 1.5m long
From the drivers side lean over the wing and with your left hand you should be able to feel the top of the vacuum solenoid.
It has a small metal pipe coming to it from the electro calve which is underneath the air con filling nozzle. This metal pipe has a rubber going piece on it, pull this off the solenoid and put your pipe on it.
Now put your hand on top of the solenoid it is about the sane size as a jam jar lid, and move your hand over it to awards the glovebox, whilst also following the valve down. It will make sense when your doing it. ☺
Now you should feel a short length of threaded rod this is the actuator. If you now suck on the pipe that's connected to the solenoid the rod should move up and down.
This proves that you still have vacuum at the solenoid and that your turbo is probably OK and it is then probably n electro valve.

Get the system plugged in to planet check the maps on Herr and get the vacuum pipes checked.

I had similar problems and it turned out to be a sensor on top of the solenoid.
