Hi all, just found {eugeot Forum and wonder if you can help?

My Mororhome is a 1997 Elddis with motive power from the 1994-2002 PSA 2.5 Turbodiesel with intercooler. Engine type DJ5 TED with the brake servo vacuum pump assisted by direct camshaft driven vacuum pump.

A cylinder head gasket replacement,with the other appropriate bolts, gaskets, and head skim, were carried out. Probably due to earlier water pump weep, reducing header the tank water level. (I must have missed a level check before a long hilly run).

MY QUERY IS:
On rebuild, there was no gasket believed to be fitted between the lower and upper parts of the vacuum pump. (All gaskets for the other parts were included in the gasket kit but enquiries show none listed).
On testing the engine oil flooded from the vacuum pump gear chamber.

SHOULD THERE BE A GASKET HERE? OR IS SEALANT USED (Type?).
DO THE FACES NEED SKIMMING? I can see that this would mean head off again and much dismantling.

Any and all comments / help appreciated

{ The old '69 Transit with a Perkins 4/108 "tractor" engine was nice and simple to fix, mostly at the roadside}
