Hi all,

I'm trying to determine what is causing my P0170 fault code and the misfire and cold starting problem that seem to occur as a result.

I have planet and have extracted the above code and description but as we know, the real skill in the diagnosis is working out what causes the fault.

I have checked the live parameters for upstream and downstream oxygen sensors.

Now they both fluctuate between 59 mVolts and 878 mVolts.
The guidance suggests that they should fluctuate between 100 mVolts and 1000 mVolts.

With Planet, I was hoping to be able to determine the cause. Is there anything else that I can check to determine the cause?

Thanks in advance.

I would look for any leaks in the exhaust etc upstream of sensor then look for air leaks in induction side and then check maf

Thanks Windy.

I'm happy with exhaust side of things from a leakage point of view because he's just been through MOT today.

I'd check MAF if I could find it. Will have to have another look.

I was hoping to use planet to work out the fault from parameter measurements but I could only find the oxygen sensors and I dont know if the readings are off or not.

Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.

I'm gonna have another look with PP now.
