Hi guys,

I have a 807 2.0 hdi 2003. Starts fine. When accelerating the engine gets juttery for a few seconds then sets off like a rocket when I accelerate harder to get passed the juttery power loss and now and again looses power then picks up. I have ran diagnostics pp and obd2 scanner and no faults found. I had an egr fault many months ago and ran egr cleaner straight into the air intake as directed and this cured the fault (had simular fault before but not has bad as it is now) car does this when accelerating in neutral or driving and it seems like I have to floor it for it to get out of the loss of power.
I reckon my egr is blocked, has any one have any idea if it's something other than egr before I start stripping it off?

Bit puzzled how could the EGR cleaner reach the EGR if was sprayed down the intake? Only a fraction could make it to the EGR. I assume your EGR is the vacuum type mounted on the exhaust manifold at the rear of the engine.
What about dismantling the EGR pipe into the inlet manifold at the front of the engine and giving it a clean, it gets loaded with gunk as the exhaust fumes condense at this point to the point of blocking.
Check the MAF sensor wires as well for debris that could be corrupting readings.

No idea how it could reach. I was desperate at time n needed car to be in good running order. It worked I didn't complain. I've not seem the egr on this car yet. I beleive its electronic driven. I've checked maf sensor by disconnecting to no avail. I was gonna strip the entire egr system and clean it out. I know it's gonna be a long job. What I did notice is though when the power kicked in I'd get a plume of blue ish smoke out the back, not a lot but enough for me to notice. When it's having its moment it seems as though the engine is starving or is being choked.

So far I've cleaned the egr pipe to the intake housing, was a bit gummed up but not much to cause a restriction. I've swapped the 2 vacuum solonoid around and it seems to be running fine. I'm going to order 2 new ones to replace them and observe for the next few days. But to say it was juttery from the start when acceleration was applied and now seems to have stopped, I think I've found the cause.

Update......
Found 2 vacuum pipes not attached. Both go on to the 2 front intake pipes. They have butterfly valves inside. I've reconnected. Not sure what these do. Can anyone shed any light on why these have these intake valves?

Good lad, must have been lack of vac that was causing the no go. Those two valves on the intake are there to push air through the intercooler or bypass it if the engine is cold. Lack of vac causes all sorts of problems that throw up irrelevant fault codes.
