Anyone want to do it?

How much would it be.

My local garage says he does not want to do it. To be fair, it does look a little compact in there.

Are you sure it is necessary? Have the glow plugs been tested to confirm they need replacement? Garage is saying no because the plugs can easily shear when you try and undo and then it is either the head being removed or a visit by a specialist with the necessary gear to recover the broken plug.

More to do with the fact it is a complete mare of a job apparently.

Book time is 4 hours.

My local couldnt even find them :)

A Diesel specialist said no also. Must be a bad job?

Dealer want £330.

You did not answer his question are you sure it needs them ?

Does it have a particulate filter if it does then you need them if it does not then you simply do not need them unless we get -10 for long periods your engine will start without them.

if you do get them replaced get the engine hot first, if its a cold engine they will snap and to get it out is a expensive job for who ever took the job on

I would get them tested before hand before taking them out

I done a Mercedes of a customers, engine was warm not hot and 1 snapped on me so I left it in the head with the prong still their and as he was a courier it finally came out like a bullet and the electrode on it was stuck in the manifold :lol as he was in the aa he called them first and he said a think you have blown an injector out :lol he called me and new straight away what it was so went to him on the m65 to Burnley repaired it on the motorway and of he went on his way

AA are crap mechanics may I just say as well they don't like getting their hand dirty

il will just point out that the customer new I had broke this in the head :thumb: its the carbon buildup off the bottom of the heater plug that gets stuck not the plug its self

Thank you for the replies.

Since the cold weather has hit over the last week or so, the car is not firing first thing in the morning. Once started, will then be fine for the rest of the day.

Battery has been replaced since the problem occurred as thought the cold weather had nerfed it.

On milder mornings, it will start after semi turning the key on and off about 5-10 times, it will then fire if you turn it for about 3-5 seconds.

Do not think will fire tomorrow morning with the temps like the are, I do have some Easy Start though just incase.

I took mine to main dealer they quoted 4hrs. it took them 8 but only charged 4hrs. Had tried to change them myself but it was impossible.
