Hi,

Sorry new here, with a scudo 2002 JTD granted, but its the same van and im getting no response from the fiat forums and first post is a problem.

Changed the sealing washers on the injectors at the weekend, i have done this before on two of the injectors as they had suffered bad blow by, after doing these two the van ran fine but leaked diesel pretty badly into the wells around the injectors. it was so bad it would leave a pool on the floor when parked after use.

Not wanting to continue using it in this condition due to the fire risk i decided to pull these 2 injectors again and a third that showed carbon build up and suggested it was suffering blow by.

I did this over 2 weekends, so the van sat disassembled for a week. having gotten the carboned up 3rd injector out that i hadnt previously taken out i noticed some marks on the seat, i dont have a seat cutting tool but cleaned the seat out with and then re installed the remaining injectors all with new sealing washers.

Everything back together turn the key and the van turns over but wont start!!!

After cranking for a while i went and put my head under the bonnet to see if i could spot anything a miss. There did seem to be a mist of vapour in and around the injectors!!

When i did the two injectors first time it started straight up after reinstalling the injectors, but it was in bits and back together in a day. they sealed fine as there was no bubbling in the pools of diesel that were sat around the injectors, but i couldnt work out where the diesel was leakingf rom so thought id try some new washers.

I didnt prime the engine at all, as i never have primed in previously and it was fine, it started straight up.

Any suggestions what to try im pretty 100% certain that i havent swapped the injectors and gotten them back wrong!

All i can think of are the following issues that are causing it to not start.

1 - The marks on the 3rd injector seat are stopping it getting up fuel pressure as it is leaking past these score marks. i dont think I made these marks but i may have done.

2 - I have gotten an air lock in the fuel system, do these vans have a manual priming pump? Can i craks one of the steel fuel lines to the injector and crank the van to ensure diesel is getting to the injector, or is this a bad idea?

Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks
Kurt

been tonight and cracked the fuel lines turned the ignition on and getting fuel to the injectors.

Any chance anyone has PP near Kendal in Cumbria that could come read it for a crate of beer?
