I've got a 2018 5008 hdi 1.6L GT line and for the last 6 weeks I've got this starting issues it's a keyless entry vehicle, when I use the fob all doors unlock but the mirrors do not fold open and when you press the start button nothing happens no contact noise no nothing the car is lifeless after pressing the start button several times around 15 times it makes contact and the car starts and then it runs all day with out any issues drives very well if I park up for about 2 hours it happens again. I took it too garage for a diagnostic check and they said they could not find any faults with the vehicle while the car was there it started every time , two weeks later I took it to another garage and they told me the same thing no faults found. After several attempts of starting the spanner light comes on and then goes out, any information from you guys would be appreciated thanks.

Really depends on what they are using for diagnostics and if it can read all modules or not. I would be surprised if an issue exists with the mirrors folding out and not a report from Lexia or equal diagnostics about what the issue is.

As above, seems unusual and start to wonder what diagnostics and if all modules are being read.

I have had similar problems with the car failing to start right away and does so after repeated attempts of pressing the brake pedal and pushing the start button (sometimes after multiple attempts over 2-3 minutes).
I knew the car wasn’t going to start immediately because Whilst the doors unlock, the mirrors don’t unfold.
I had planned a trip in the car for a long drive more than 100 kms and miraculously since then haven’t had the starting problem repeat, the mirrors unfold and the car starts right away.
So it may be that the battery charge has an impact on this.

Our 3008 had an issue where the mirrors would not unfold, and we couldn't start the car with a normal key (not start/stop button) and it turned out to be the main 12 volt battery. This was replaced and all was working again.

I would certainly look at the battery.

I have had intermittent starting problems for several months.

It’s obvious that the car won’t start if when unlocking, the mirrors won’t unfold, or if first opening the tailgate it doesn’t open using the lift motor.

Yesterday despite attempts over half an hour, I called roadside assistance.
They checked the battery and it was fully charged.

After several more attempts, I heard a faint clicking sound from near the steering column.
Several attempts later the car started.
It would appear that the steering column release solenoid may have had some binding, perhaps because the wheel was off centre.
I will try to make sure that when I stop, the wheel is centred and only marginal friction.
Will report back if I have any further problems starting.

what did they use to check it the battery was full though. a battery degrades and half way through its life it might say its charged, but actually is only half charged because the other half is degraded. That half may not be able to run the system in the background say over night? You need to do a full battery check on it really.

Apparently a common/known issue by now. Search the forums for BPGA / Battery Protection Module, you should find lots of similar posts.
I had this last year on a 2017 5008, unlocks, no wing mirror opening, wont start, reports battery charge fault intermittently. Takes a while to finally start.
Took the dealer a week to get the replacement module and 30 minutes to fit it during a service/MOT. No issues since (nearly 1 year ago)
I still have extended warranty that covered it, but posts suggest its over ÂŁ300 for the part.
