407 sw Warning lights

Hi All,

I own an '06 407 sw (136 Hdi) which is driving me nuts with intermittent 'left hand stop bulb faulty' and 'direction indicators faulty' captions appearing on the main display, accompanied by a beep. Some days it's fine, then it goes nuts for a day. All the lights are fine and the dealer can't find anything wrong - typically it behaved itself while at the garage!

Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone have a cure?

I have to say the worst aspect of Peugeot ownership (on my 4th Pug) is finding a decent dealer to service your car - they all seem to be pretty shabby at actually fixing anything at all!

Me too :(

I just bought a 04 407 SE HDI 136 Saloon.
Mine does exactly the same thing. Even the same side and lights.

Has anyone found the cure to the problem yet?

Your car is still under warranty, ask if there are software updates needed.
Update:

Assuming that these blown bulb detection circuits are fairly sensitive to slight current variations caused by bulbs with slightly different impedances, I went out and bought two indictators and two stop lights from Halfords and slammed them in.

Everything is fine now, BUT I noticed that the offside reversing light had cracked glass, so I replaced that too.

I wasn't willing to rip everything out to verify whether it was the cracked reverse light or mismatched indicator/stop bulbs :) It works now.

Suggest you try the same laddy.

Finding a good dealer.

:thumb: Hi, just joined the forum. On my third pug now, 1st was a 206 1.9d very basic but a good car, 2nd was a 307 hdi 90 nice looking car but basically crap!!! numerous rattles and creaks on the inside lost count of the number of times the anti pollution fault message flashed on the dashboard meaning a trip to the dealer each time and finally it started eating batteries so had a look at 407's at my local dealer which leads me to my point if you want to know of a good dealer try DAVID HAYTON they are based in Morecambe, Kendal and Penrith all in the North West they are the main reason i stuck with the Peugeot marque. By the way the 407 is great it's a s.v. model with the 136 bhp hdi engine 50mpg on a run, comfy, quiet, and plenty of toys to keep me amused on a long run. Reliability has been perfect only work needed was new hubs as an unofficial recall.
I have a 05 407 110 HDI, mine does the same. its driving me insane. Do you know of any cure.

Nick.
