Vehicle is a 407 s/w 2005. R/R shock has broken twice. underbody measurements at an approved peugeot autobody repairer indicate that the rear sub-frame is out of alignment,I doubt it....................any ideas?

Why do you doubt the result of the car being checked?

Is it possible that a new car with an accident free history will have sub-frames out of spec, and if the sub-frame is out of sync.... would this cause the r/r shock to break?

It is unlikely but not impossible,if it is a new car then get peugeot to repair it under warranty and ask to speak to the head technician ask him what he/she thinks is causing this problem. Not evryone handles other peoples property with care something could have happened to the car prior to you collecting it.
