My 407 SW has failed its MOT due to lower ball joint in dangerous condition. My garage tells me this is a well known problem and the "dangerously inadequate design" has been corrected by a recall and a complete new hub assembly. My Peugeot dealer tells me that there was an information note and its not covered by warranty unless the car has done less than 60k miles. Can anyone give more info?

This has been a long known problem, the ball joints on my 407 both needed replacing after 23k miles.

The design has been changed now. 60k is the maximum limit and hub assemblies are only changed if the collar/knuckle where the swivel fits on to is pitted badly
