Due to a change in circumstances, I will shortly be changing my daily commute and will therefore no longer require the efficiency of the hdi.

I don't really want to keep it for doing small trips and risking clogging up the dpf etc so am thinking about swapping to a petrol 407.

Can any petrol owners advise on whether the 2 litre engine is adequate for the car and what to look out for when buying. Is the cambelt interval the same as the derv?

Thanks in advance

Mat

On the DPF: mine was manageable on a 10 mile commute, but sometimes I ended up having to circle the ring road while it finished. Takes about 9 minutes.

Had the 2.2 petrol and that was pretty respectable, although it felt slower than the 2.2 HDi.
