My passenger mirror has always been a little bit loose but nothing to warrant a repair/replacement over the last week it has got worse so that while driving it was useless, today i decided to explore why and was flabbergasted that on barely touched the glass it fell off and was only saved by the wires
Anyway i thought i'd take the opportunity to take some pictures while it was in bits to maybe help others work out wht's what behind the glass etc.

Showing it hanging on the wires

Any possibility of measuring the resistance of the heating element?

I think my driver side one might be faulty but it's not been cold enough to know for sure. If I know the resistance I'll know if it would be more economic to get a heating pad to effect a repair rather than buy a genuine part.
