My 407 (2007) battery is draining fast (draining current = 0.7 -1 A). I changed the battery, didn't help. I have checked all the fuse and only one which stops draining is a shunt fuse in the fuse box under the steering wheel. What are connected to that circuit? What should I check next?
Hi.... I had this problem with my 1.6 407, it turned out to be the glow plug relay sticking on, cost £80 inc fitting and diagnosis. I tried 3 different garages before finding fault. I had to take the battery lead off every time I park a real pia.
I took it to an electrical auto specialist... car concepts in Aylesbury.. Highly recommended, if your anywhere near bucks:thumb:
Battery drain problem ended up being the control panel on the rt3 sat nav unit every thing shut down as normal but the whole unit kept running in the back ground 0.57 drain got panel of sat nav unit that wasn't working now all fine 0.01 drain ( normal )
volt meter set on amp reading disconnect battery negative connect amp meter on negative lead and negative terminal don't open doors or any thing on the car after a few minutes the volt meter will go down as car shuts down . I tried a few fuses f4 fascia 1 glove box was the one but it also does the alarm. I then took fuse out of the back of rt3 in where large connector is 5 amp fuse put the f4 back in tried drain test again all shut down okay no drain on battery then it was just luck finding it was the control panel i tried changing bit by bit of rt3 as i didn't want to buy used one.
have u found the solution?
