Hi guys,

Just changing my 407 2.0 hdi alternator, as it decided to go yesterday (no output). Have a replacement and trying to strip the old one off - have removed three of the bolts (top left and right, and bottom left), however it seems like the bottom left is a recessed allen key or similar. Unfortunately cant see it to work out what it is, and is near impossible to get to as behind the oil filter housing - Does anyone know if it's allen or torx, and what size please? Need to get this out ASAP since the kids are missing valuble time at Thorpe park!! ;)

Cheers Paul

sussed it :)

For reference, The bottom right bolt is a holder only - like a stud... Underneath to the right there is a bracket held by a 5mm allen bolt. undo this and remove the bracket, and the alternator comes out (Careful not to drop the bracket or bolt....)

You may need an 8mm star drive to remove this stud and put on the new alternator
