Right now im guessing everyone is familiar with the "anti pollution system defective" and the old engine warning light fault.. well basicly after spending just short of a grand, me and my local garage aggreed to just Rip the damn FAP unit out of the car and sever all the wires. Its causign too many problems and costs too much to be left alive (hehe). Anyway the car has responded by going into limp mode. and its still drivable but i need that turbo back. it takes me about 2 minutes atleast to get to 70mph. Can't stand it anymore!

anyway my son has passed his test and hes got his little ford escort and hes been tinkering with it (not adding performance parts or anything like that) infact as far as i know hes took the engine apart. learnt how every bit of it works, cleaned it and put it all back together again. and this little red car now kicks anything it comes up next to at the lights.

So basicly if i get him to read this and do some work on my pug. he might get it going properly. The only problem is we just want to know how to basicly "bypass" this antipolution system thing and trick the car into thinking everything is okay (so it turns on the turbo again!)

if anyone has any ideas... like mabey change the sensors round so it thinks the engine is okay when its looking at tyre pressure or something. or possibly stop it from sensing things in the engine so it turns on again (obviously not everything in the engine coz if it breaks ill be... ahem... spannered :D)

anyway get back to me ASAP. Cheers

Loz.

(oh sorry if i waffled at all i useually do)

I didn't know the 406 HDi had the farticulate filter, except on the later 2.2 and the later 2.0 RHZ units from 2002 on?

Sounds like you're buggered, unless you're prepared to reinstate all the missing components and have the ECU reset on Planet, or pay a software engineer to totally rewrite the ECUs program to ignore the missing FAP.

It's rumoured that some folk on the continent have modified the system and software to inject diesel rather than the expensive ELOYs, and removed the filter altogether, but even if it's true it's not a simple task.

"Depollution System Faulty"

To anyone that can help, it appears that I too have the same problem, I have a 2007, 307sw, Full Service History, just out of warrenty so I'm obviously going to feel this on my pocket, none of the 3 local dealers can give me an exact fault report, I have the same problems as everyone else with this error message, vehicle stalls at 3000 rpms, very bad shudder, I got to put back into 1st gear even on the slightest incline.

I have heard it all from the 3 local Peugeot dealers here in Johannesburg, South Africa, I even did another major service on the vehicle thinking the fault could be the filters, still nothing, today a dealer tells me that perhaps there is an electrical fault on the bulbs, I mean like really:nono:

Can anyone who has had this problem resolved Pleeeeese assist me.:tantrum::help:
