Hi,
I had my pads and discs changed in my 1.8 406 (1999) then within a couple of weeks a grinding noise came off the brakes. checked with garage they said OK. But then ABS error popped up. I took it back to the garage and they put it on the diagnostics machine (laptop) and said no issue diagnosed. Brakes works fine but it sometimes gives the grinding noise and most of the time ABS fault is on.
I have read in this forum
1. BSI reset would help
2. ABS sensor change would help
3. ABS wheel change would help

My garage person cannot find the issue and can anyone with same please help. Would above point # 01, 02 or 03 will help?

Yes, I did check ABS with my previous mechanic, but he said no issue diagnosed(checked with SW diagnosis as well)
But as david said, I'll be going to another one and at 1st will check on ABS wheels/ rings.
But the garage guy is free only on wednesday and I'm not free on that day.
Will update on his details.
Note:
I did the BSI reset with mechanic friend of mine. It didnt help. Car is same as the previous :)

Morning

Well I have worked on a 406 hdi with a friend who had an abs fault light we tried sensors etc could not fix it.

While doing the repairs we spotted some of the tie rods and a ball joint had wear so they got changed then tracked! ! abs light out still checks on dash but goes out as car moves off, been good for about five months now.

May not help but check if the bars etc have movement

Good luck
