1997 406 2.1 TD travelling at 70 M.P.H. suffered total loss of power. No response from throttle (Initial thought was cam belt failure) Coasted to side of road. Lifted bonnet & turned key & engine started straight away. Suspect loss of electrics to pump but nothing obvious found. Any ideas?

Hi roy and welcome to the forum :yay2:

Intermittant faults are difficult to find out would really need to be checked by peugeot
Did the engine management light come on at all? The 406 had a recall for customers experiencing power loss, needed a software update (done under warranty) contact peugeot uk to find out if your car has had this done.

Peugeot Customer Contact Centre on 0845 200 1234 between 8.30am and 8.00pm. or http://www.peugeot.co.uk
