The right hand side of the temp/radio display is dimly lit compared to the left. I rang Peugeot and the guy said I wouldn't need to take the dash out, that this was a separate unit. Is it a fairly easy thing to remove and how do I do it? There is a tab on the top of the mounting, I've shown a picture of it. Is that something I need to prise open?

Also, I presume the end of this steering column radio remote control is missing a cover? Easy to replace ? Expensive?

Then I have the dreaded faulty indicator stalk I've read about that flicks to the left after coming out of a right indicate, and sometimes switches itself off too early from a left indicate. Is it a Com 2000 that I'm looking for or can this be fixed? And if I go to a breakers yard, how do I know that a stalk I'm buying is going to be clear of this fault?

Finally, the horn seems to be intermittent but seems to mostly work when I press it hard. When I first tried the horn, it worked on the left side of the steering wheel but not on the right. I've got it working both sides now as long as i press it hard but I'm still not sure it's 100% perfect. What to do? Should I have to press it hard or is this a fault?

Firstly the indicator- Re-move the stalk,go to a breakers get one from a CITREON XSARA check that it is comparable, problem solved and its a reliable part.
Horn-you shouldnt have to press that hard, the fact that it works would suggest that its not much wrong, probably dirty contacts.

Thanks moose. I noticed something else now  , the heater. Although it turns on and I can hear the fan blowing powerfully, I've noticed that the dial to change where the air is directed doesn't seem to change anything. Consequently, I can feel air mostly coming from the dashboard to the windscreen, but not as much coming through the vents. Short of changing the whole unit, do you happen to know if it's fixable?

Indicator Problem

Heya,

I have just bought myself a Peugeot 307 and it has the same problem with the indicator stalk.
Any ideas on how tricky it is to replace the stalk once I get a "new" one from a breakers yard?? Any how to's or hints and tips??

Which model Citroen should I aim for??

Or, if I take it to a peugeot garage will they do it for free??

Another thing, my front indicator bulb tends to get loose and doesnt light up which then makes them flash faster than normal. Though I think its just loose because if i push it in it comes on..

Thanks

just pull the display panel up at the front edge and it will pop out, when you turn it around you will see the backs of 3 small bulbs. It's normally just a quarter turn and they will pull out.

replacements can be found at Halfords for about £4 for 2 bags of 2 bulbs.:thumb:
