When I scanned my Pug 2001 406 2.016v 8B Al4 for faults I get a pending code P0711
(P0711 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance)

Would this mean it is a good time to change the fluid as I have planned to?
The gears change a bit rough especially when gearing down.

I heard it's a bit of a risk as it's probably still got the original fluid in the box.

However I would like to do what I can to maintain the Gearbox as I only bought the car a short while ago and would like to drive it indefinately. The car's in almost mint condition otherwise.

Would it be a good idea to change the fluid?

What are the chances of it going wrong? Slipping after fluid change.
If it does do the anti-slip additives work?

My wife drives the car mostly and won't understand if the gears slip after I've worked on it.
However if I don't change the fluid I guess it goes without saying it can only last so long.

Your input would be very much appreciated!
