Had this care less than 18 months, only 48,000 KM on the car. Was coming home and at a stop light, Engine fault warning came on, "Engine fault, repair engine".
About 20 seconds later the car just died and would not restart.
Brought to dealer and they are saying the entire head assembly must be replaced, or possibly the engine. Anybody ever hear of such a thing on such a "new-ish" less worn engine?
They are saying 5000-10000 USD to fix (I am in Japan).

Sorry to hear macaler.

Did the garage say what was the cause? Cambelt failure for example?

What was mileage when you bought it? Does it have service history?

Were there any problems prior to this sudden failure?

I have language problem as I'm in Japan, But I think they are "searching" for the cause.
The car had 48,000KM on the clock... Its a 2013 so the manufacturer warranty is expired. Yes, comprehensive service history.

And no.. NOT 1 indication to this failure.
