Hi all
finally sorted my problem out to be be the EGR valve with a fault code of
P0490.

is this a hard job to do? I have never worked on a peugeot before and have heard you have to tilt the engine to get at it?
is this correct?

what else in involed?

well any of them realy!
apprently it is right down the back of the engine somewhere.
will look for choppers thread and see what hes is doing

I take it that it's the 136 2 litre? I believe it's on the front of the head. Shouldn't be difficult to replace, and giving all the bolts a soak in Rost Off beforehand'll help. It's then need resetting on Planet so the ECU knows when it is in the 'parked' position.

I've done blanking off on the 8v DW HDi's, but never on a 16v. Theoretically it should work just dandy, but I don't know what errors the OBC may then throw up, or not.

I have had to take it to a local "Citroen/Peugeot" specialist becuse it was playing up like mad and driving the wife nuts.....

They are saying it is the electronic throttle valve so it will be a lot cheaper for us.

but thanks again for reply
