Just joined this list as I've been seeking an answer/solution to a problem we've been having with our 307SW 1.6 HDI 90 (reg 04)

When we stop and park the car, the cooling fan often comes on, at high speed and therefore quite loud, for several minutes till eventually it stops.

This happens whether it's been a long, high-speed, motorway journey or, as happened just now, a five minute ride to pick up someone from the station.

We often arrive home very late at night, and our neighbour (who's a good friend) said the fan sometimes keeps her awake - she's a very light sleeper!

We've checked the coolant levels, and they seem OK, and our local Peugeot dealer basically said "it sometimes happens with that car, so live with it".

Any suggestions/answers gratefully accepted.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had read somewhere that this may be the case that the fan came on for the regeneration cycle but they were unsure. Also glad that this is common and not a fault.

First time diesel owner so getting used to a different type of driving and how a car acts.

thanks again
